DISSØLV & AHEE take us on a journey through time and space with Time Technician

This week we are lucky to have the opportunity to premiere the newest track from the LoFreq Cypher Vol. 2 Compilation, DISSØLV ft. Ahee – Time Technician. The track begins with an catchy Arabian melody that is guaranteed to hook you. This intoxicating and enticing melody is the kind of melody that would ensnare walkers by at a festival and drag them in for more. When the drums start building, you find yourself starting to bounce in anticipation of the drop that you know is coming and then it hits you, The drop is as intoxicating as the introduction layering booming 808s with synths that make you feel like you are lost in a wonderland of sound. The second drop adds layers of intensity and complexity as the rapid arpeggios take over and implant themselves in your mind.  The mind-bending sound in this track makes you feel lost in time and space in the best way. DISSØLV and Ahee really nailed it with this track and we are honored to be able to present Time Technician to you.

Besides the ability to premiere music that we love, our favorite part of doing these premieres lies with getting to know these amazing artists on a more personal level, and DISSØLV and Ahee were kind enough to give us some insight into their projects!

DISSØLV, comprised of brothers Valentin Santana, 30, and Andre Reinero, 24, “represents the freedom and flow state of pure presence experienced on the dance floor. It’s the state of DISSØLVing the hustle, bustle, and societal pressures of the everyday world to be fully in the moment with yourself and others around you. No judgments, no expectations - just you, the music, the love, and the community you’re experiencing it with. It’s the sensation of freedom you receive when the past and future doesn’t matter. All that matter is you’re right where you need to be - just being present. DISSØLVing your mind, body and soul.. And letting it all go.” Santana and Reinero tell us that they grew up in Santa Cruz, California, and “always dreamed of being in a band together but the age difference and distance made it hard growing up.” Lucky for us that dream eventually became a reality. Valentin was already working on DISSØLV as a solo project, so after Andre graduated from production school, he was invited to join, creating the long awaited bro team.

AHEE (short for A Human Expressing Experience), the solo project of Californian Chris Adams, 33, has been a mainstay in the music world for years now. Ahee told us that he was passing through Santa Cruz while on tour, “the DISSØLV fam offered to let me stay at their place and while I was there we started working on a tune they had been working on. I made a few of my edits and they were hype on it. Then I went to play the show, was a fun time. I love doing that.” AHEE is definitely an industry “veteran” by any standards, having over 20 years producing music under his belt. When asked what got him into Electronic Music, he told us he “went to a few Psy-Trance & Tech-House parties back in 2009 in California, but wasn't too impressed with the repetitive drums. Then in 2012 I went to Lightning In A Bottle and saw Bassnectar (who was one of his biggest influences until the recent debacle along with Skrillex & Aphex Twin), Lucent Dossier Experience, The Glitch Mob, Tipper, Shpongle, & I fell in love with the festival culture & music.”

When we asked DISSØLV for their thought process behind this track they told us that “[w]e’ve slowly been shifting our sound into a heavier more bass driven late night vibe while still having moments of conscious melody and story.” When we asked all three artists how they wanted this track to be perceived, DISSØLV said “It's definitely more of a fun bouncy track, so we guess have fun with it! Dance around, lose yourself, and DISSØLVe in the moment,” and AHEE said he wants listeners to feel “like they are dancing on a different planet!” We certainly felt like aliens having a blast when we listened to this track so we are sure you will too!
